    Job Summary: Focusing in large part on our fleet of 15,000 Delivery Drivers, the Safety Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the company’s Health and Safety programs, procedures, processes and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements to eliminate or minimize risks to our employees, our company, the environment and communities in which we do business. Analyzes and evaluates prospective needs for programs and services needed to position Waitr as an employer of choice. 

    Essential Functions:

    • Builds and oversees a behavior based safety culture including analyzing safety risks; championing a behavior based safety system; making recommendations for corrective or preventive measures; coaching business leaders on how to create a Safety Culture at their locations and within their departments
    • Identify exposures, recommend solutions, and implement approved programs promoting loss prevention and compliance
    • Understand and operationalize programs, policies, and procedures for reporting, investigating and analysis
    • Evaluate safety concerns and recommend new approaches or changes to improve safety within the organization
    • Develop and recommend safety policies, procedures and methods
    • Support claims and loss control activities
    • Grow relationships with third party providers, claims adjusters, insurers, outside legal counsel, and other claims related parties
    • Investigate all vehicle employee incidents, accidents and injuries to determine cause and take appropriate remedial action
    • Develop and implement Corporate Safety and Risk Management training programs
    • Comply and keep current with OSHA, Federal and State record keeping policy, Regulations and industry best practice
    • Conduct and/or ensure the required periodic inspections, compliance audits, and accident prevention activities


    • Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Occupational Safety or related field
    • 8+ years of corporate safety experience
    • 5+ years of safety experience focusing on (delivery) driver safety
    • 3+ years of experience developing, implementing and managing company safety programs
    • Knowledge of local, state and federal safety compliance and regulatory issues, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act
    • OSHA 10, 30 General Labor, ASP, CSP or related training and certifications are a plus

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Travel: Up to  25-50%
